Before your show, check with the veterinarian to make sure your pig has the vaccines and tests needed to be healthy. 

Before, during, and after each show, monitor your pig’s health daily.  

• Is your pig eating normally?
• Is your pig coughing, thumping, or having trouble breathing?
• Does your pig have a fever?
• Does your pig have any skin discoloration?
• Does your pig appear depressed?
• Does your pig have loose stools?
• Does your pig limp or have sores on its feet? 

Keep pigs that return from a show isolated for at least 30 days and watch for signs of illness. 

If you see any signs of illness, tell your veterinarian right away.
